Thank you Erin!
Just in case you were wondering the background to a lot of my most recent zentangles is a photo print of a picture I took a year or so ago, I just like the contrast that it gives my zentangle. The template for today really gave me a challenge and I find that to be a lot of fun. I hope you are all enjoying it too!
Thank you Erin!

I couldn't let the week slip away without finishing the dare. I just had to wait a few days . Zendala block for sure.
I spent some time this morning looking at pictures of Calgary. Now where I come from we are recognized for 2 things, Dinosaurs and Rodeo....and from what I see Calgary is also know for those two things, only they have gone about celebrating them in a bigger than life way. One year I volunteered for our rodeo and many of the cowboys would come and compete for a place in the finals and then head off to Calgary. I have visited Calgary one time, almost 35 years ago. I didn't remember it being such a beautiful city and yet I find myself longing to visit again. My heart goes out to those suffering from the flooding this year. With thoughts of Calgary I just began to tangle. When colors came they were more muted than normal, almost muddy, perhaps the flood is influencing my coloring this morning. All the best to Calgary and those who call it home!
I had company all weekend....and believe it or not we zentangled shoes, so I did not get into the da until today. Thank you Erin for the wonderful template. I so love the dares
This one was inspired by the pattern in the photo above. Maria Vennekens has issued a challenge, as a guest at I am the Diva,....and wants the thoughts of how it worked out for us, well Maria I must tell you that my first thought was, is there a pattern that hasn't been made? With so many people developing patterns and tangleations I am sure it is almost impossible not to step upon someones toes. Keeping that in mind and knowing that I might not be the first to step out some patterns I do want to share this experience with you. First of all I took a google journey into patterns of nature, then I looked around my house. The 2 pieces I did today were influenced by those searches. So here goes. The first pattern I found was through google and here is the picture I found: And below is my tile And the step out The second inspiration And my crazy response to what I saw And the step out and it was zen because I did free flow after the first attempts of figuring out a pattern I had a pattern and so I didn't have to worry any longer. Maybe I didn't do the challenge right. Maria, tell me if I should try again. Thanks for the fun!
And Laura, I am so happy to have the challenges each week. Thanks to you too! To begin I want to share with you the new Denzer Art Site as I promised when I received requests. I just posted all my patterns on there. I thought you might enjoy seeing what my daughters, Sarah, Eve, and Martha have posted.
For this week's challenge I have just finished my first tile....I hope to keep on working on this one for several days. It was a fun challenge and I am excited about where it will lead me. So this week Erin decided that we should choose a template that just didn't go our way and revisit it! There have been a few that really gave me the run around and talking about round I chose template Dare #52.
I hope you all have fun with this dare! |
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, clerk, and appreciator of art. Sometimes I try to produce some art myself. Mainly I love the art of others. Doodling has been a big part of my life. Notes were never left unadorned. Now that I have found zentangle....doodling has become more exciting and fun! I hope you enjoy.
