So grids are great and I love the patterns that are usable. I think I am going to have a lot of fun with this one this week! The outside pattern is a pattern I made up from a combination of several patterns that I have seen. It is called the pinwheel flower pattern. You can find the pattern on this website.
I was again in the mood to play with my scrap-booking paper. It just makes a great string when I find myself at a loss for a new design. Assunta is a challenging pattern for me. I have to try continuously to keep my directions straight. I think that Maria was amazingly clear in her instructions and I had to follow them exactly to get it to be anyway close to the assunta. All my fellow tanglers....I am excited to see how you make a star out of assunta. It is going to be a great week. I have been asked how I get my colors and shading. I am going to include a link to my coloring tutorial. It is here
I spent the week with Thom, my grandson, and he loved my little journal so we decided to tangle together. Thom is 3 tomorrow. I am also displaying a painting he made while I was there. I would love to tangle it.....but that is not what grandma's do with the art that is uniquely perfect without tangling!
With every challenge there is a learning curve. I am not one to limit my tangles in a tile type setting but today I found it to be fun. I am not sure that the framed look was achieved in this first attempt but it did give me the desire to see if I will be able to come up with something better as I return to the challenge at least once again. I just went back to the challenge page a realized my mistake. I tend to rush head on into things without reading all the details. Don't start until you read all her instructions. Wow was she ever right.....as you can see!
I am actually on vacation.....my daughter just welcomed a sweet little boy into the family and I am enjoying every second of getting to know him.....however, addictive is the challenge and in the quiet of the morning I took the opportunity to check out the challenge and tangle. This will be my only try but it was fun. Thanks for the fun Christina and Laura!

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, clerk, and appreciator of art. Sometimes I try to produce some art myself. Mainly I love the art of others. Doodling has been a big part of my life. Notes were never left unadorned. Now that I have found zentangle....doodling has become more exciting and fun! I hope you enjoy.
