In my grandmother's garden there was always a pinwheel. Funny I had not thought of that for years. She had such a green thumb. I am happy to have this memory. Anyway I guess that is why the flowers appeared. I used the peace rose. That was my mother's favorite rose and I too am inclined to choose it above all others. In the pinwheel there are words that I think promote peace. Hopefully you will be able to read them.....just in case..... they are charity, humility, patience, temperance, and brotherly kindness. Again I echo last week's sentiment of "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me" It is from a song my father used to sing and I learned to sing it at a very young age. Vince Gill sings it beautifully at this link Another version beautifully done with gorgeous photos of children

What a lovely, fresh interpretation. The painting is gorgeous (looks like watercolor) and the sentiment is heartfelt.

The Peace Rose is my favorite, too. My mother had an old bush in our yard - it produced the most amazing blooms year after year. I am always amazed by your offerings to the challenges. This one is no exception. So very beautiful. And the song is an added bonus. I've been singing that song since I was a little girl. Thank you for all of your thoughts. I appreciate you. Shalom!

I have to tell you LeeAnn that ever since I saw your pinwheel I have been in awe! Everytime I try to start my challenge piece all I see in my head is yours and how beautiful it is and how I know mine will never have the look and feel that yours gives off. This is one of my all time favorites of yours!!!

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, clerk, and appreciator of art. Sometimes I try to produce some art myself. Mainly I love the art of others. Doodling has been a big part of my life. Notes were never left unadorned. Now that I have found zentangle....doodling has become more exciting and fun! I hope you enjoy.
