I watched March madness basketball.....or was it just listening......I had fun occasionally glancing up to see Jimmer hit a basket and in the meantime the tangle was just coming along. Tonight in silence I just enjoyed the time with pen and pencil!

When you aren't struggling to simply get the lines on the paper.....your freedom is divine. I loved the left handed quirkiness.....but it is a nice thing to be able to control the pen without thinking constantly....planning every stroke and striving with all your might to execute the design. This was zen!

What a challenge....whew.....left hand, shaky, determined to not use right. Coloring outside of the lines.....erasing with left hand. Pausing to breathe and relax and try to smile. Sticking out my tongue.....what I do when I concentrate. I made it! Oh it hurts to read of the devastation and deprivations of the people in Japan. They are living in a nightmare. Not only have they lost loved ones but they cannot find water, or food. For years I have been trying to prepare for disaster.....but how can one prepare for such turmoil. Somehow we must let them know of our love.
The gifts the world gives us are really taken for granted but when suddenly it throws us a curve ball we know that all is not easy street. The power of nature out of balance is frightening and sorrowful. People lose so much when this happens and we all watch with sadness and sometimes despair because we are helpless to stop the fury of the storm. In my philosophy 0f life death itself , though how it comes about may, does not scare me. I have great hopes for an other life full of wondrous peace, however, I do feel horrible for those who are left behind to pick up their lives without those whom they love. I think all we can do is live with love, try to make our world the best it can be, help those in need, and do good. My prayers are with those who are hurting in body and spirit today. May they be given the strength to carry on.
Sometimes I like to watch a show or two on tv but I generally I am not watching....just listening, because I always tangle. Because I drew two, it would mean it was a two show night. I usually watch reality....I know......but I love to see what makes people tick. I wonder if that influences my tangle?
I was thinking today that perhaps some of you who come to my site might not understand some of the terminology I use. So I made a tangle that is sort of half way finished so I could explain stringing. I do not string every time I tangle, however, it is one of the ways I use very often to come up with ideas. I use it more and more often as time goes by. You sort of just come up with a string. Once we had a challenge to make our string with our eyes wide shut. That challenge taught me that I do not always have to control the string that it can sort of control me instead. So here is my piece half finished so you can see what my string looks like when I begin.

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, clerk, and appreciator of art. Sometimes I try to produce some art myself. Mainly I love the art of others. Doodling has been a big part of my life. Notes were never left unadorned. Now that I have found zentangle....doodling has become more exciting and fun! I hope you enjoy.
