I've been at workshops all day long.....in a place that is about a 2 1/2 hours from home. I looked up the challenge this morning and I tangled away when I thought I might fall asleep. I love how tangling clears my mind, wakes me up, and helps me listen better. Granted, my mind was on the seminar so if it seems erratic....it is! Happy week of tangling!

My daughter found some Bristol smooth paper that measure 5"x17" and I am playing with panels. It is fun!
I almost thought of skipping this challenge....but oh do I love challenges. You see my problem was and is that my mom always said "Remember who you are" and she never encouraged me to put on a mask, because it would give me the option of forgetting. So Mardi Gras was never my idea of fun. I know many love it and look forward to it all year. That is okay, I just don't think that it is my idea of fun. So with this in mind I post my one and only challenge piece.
I have a confession to make.....I live for Monday morning and the moment I can open the challenge . The challenge gets my creative juices going again. I get impatient and usually skim Laura's post.......now mind you this is skimming only on the first reading......and go right for the challenge. Well this week I tried to slow down because I have often missed an important detail, but alas again I skimmed too much. When I went back to really read all of the post I found out that this challenge was issued not by Laura, (though without Laura what would we do?) but by guest CZT, Diana Hirsch. Sorry Diana for not seeing that. The new challenge is again for a good cause, The Four Diamonds Fund. The Four Diamonds Fund was started by Charles and Irma Millard after their son, Christopher, lost his 3 year battle with cancer in 1972. Symbolic of the traits Christopher felt were needed to defeat cancer, he wrote a story in which the knight Sir Millard overcomes obstacles to achieve the four diamonds of Courage, Wisdom, Honesty and Strength. This is a the story. So many people reach out to others when trials come into their lives. It is an amazing thing.... the hearts of people drawn from charity into action. Thank you for the challenge Diana!! and to you Laura for always having the perfect guest or challenge to send our way. Unless the challenge today is a heart.....this will be my last Valentine's tangle. It is entitled "My heart is filled with love". I just found out that grand baby number 8 is on its way. Lucky me!
How fun is this, to be able to use tangles created by the challenge participants. I
love how Laura shares our ideas through challenges. Tricia Faraone created this gorgeous pattern, called"Sanibelle". I find it frilly and gorgeous. I attempted to create another valentine using its beautiful lines. I am enjoying the challenge. |
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, clerk, and appreciator of art. Sometimes I try to produce some art myself. Mainly I love the art of others. Doodling has been a big part of my life. Notes were never left unadorned. Now that I have found zentangle....doodling has become more exciting and fun! I hope you enjoy.
